Terms & Conditions
Effective Date: May 9, 2026
These Terms govern access to and use of the Website and its digital journal features.
1. Acceptance Of Terms
By accessing, browsing, creating an account, signing in, writing, saving, submitting, uploading, or otherwise using writevent.com, the person using the Website accepts these Terms & Conditions and agrees to comply with them. A person who does not agree with these Terms should not use the Website.
2. Definitions
Website means writevent.com and the pages, tools, forms, files, scripts, account features, guest features, journal features, timeline features, tracking features, notes, meditation features, vision board features, and related services made available through that domain.
User means any person who visits or uses the Website, whether signed in, unsigned-in, registered, unregistered, or using the Website as a guest.
Private Journal Content means journal entries, timeline entries, notes, letters, reflections, personal writing, tracking entries, vision board text, and other personal content created, typed, saved, uploaded, or submitted by a User through the Website.
Website owner/operator means the person or entity that owns, controls, maintains, or operates the Website.
3. Purpose Of The Website
The Website is a digital journal created for private writing, life mapping, reflection, memory organization, timeline writing, notes, meditation, tracking, vision planning, and personal self-expression. The Website is intended to help a User write about the past, understand the present, and create space for the future.
The Website is not a public publishing platform, a professional service, a medical tool, a mental-health provider, a crisis service, a legal service, a financial service, or a substitute for qualified professional advice.
4. Account Use, Guest Use, And Saved Content
Certain Website features may be available without signing in. Guest or unsigned-in use may allow a User to begin writing before creating or accessing an account.
Guest or unsigned-in entries may be stored, but guest storage is not guaranteed. A guest entry may be lost, unavailable, overwritten, disconnected from the User, or impossible to recover if the User changes devices, changes browsers, clears browser data, uses private browsing, loses a session, experiences a connection issue, closes a page, or encounters a technical error.
A logged-in account is required for the most reliable saved experience. Even when a User is logged in, the Website does not guarantee uninterrupted access, permanent storage, perfect syncing, restoration of every entry, or recovery of content in every circumstance.
Each User is responsible for keeping login credentials confidential, using accurate account information, signing out on shared devices, and keeping personal backups of important writing.
5. Privacy Of Private Journal Content
Private Journal Content belongs to the User who creates it. The Website is intended to be a safe private journal. The Website owner/operator does not read, monitor, review, sell, publish, or share Private Journal Content as part of ordinary Website operation.
Private Journal Content is intended for the User who created it and is not intended to be displayed to the Website owner/operator through ordinary journal screens. However, no online system can guarantee absolute privacy, absolute security, permanent availability, or complete immunity from hosting, database, backup, maintenance, security, legal, or emergency circumstances.
Limited technical processing may occur as reasonably necessary to operate the Website, save content, display content back to the User, maintain accounts, protect security, prevent abuse, troubleshoot errors, comply with law, or respond to a lawful request. The Privacy Policy provides additional detail.
6. User Ownership And Limited Operating Permission
Each User retains ownership of that User’s Private Journal Content. By creating, submitting, saving, uploading, or entering Private Journal Content through the Website, the User gives the Website owner/operator a limited, non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free permission to host, store, process, transmit, display to that User, back up, secure, maintain, troubleshoot, and otherwise handle the content only as reasonably necessary to operate, provide, protect, and legally administer the Website.
This limited operating permission is not a sale of Private Journal Content and does not authorize the public publication or standalone sale of a User’s private entries.
7. No Professional Advice; No Emergency Monitoring
The Website provides a personal writing and reflection space only. No Website content, prompt, feature, timeline, tracking tool, meditation text, self-reflection language, or vision board feature constitutes therapy, medical care, diagnosis, mental-health treatment, crisis counseling, legal advice, financial advice, tax advice, or any other professional service.
The Website is not monitored as an emergency or crisis service. A User experiencing danger, suicidal thoughts, thoughts of self-harm, thoughts of harming another person, abuse, urgent medical symptoms, or any other emergency should contact emergency services or a qualified professional immediately.
8. User Responsibilities And Prohibited Conduct
Each User agrees not to:

Users may access the Website for personal journaling and personal reflection. Unauthorized copying, distribution, resale, modification, scraping, automated extraction, or exploitation of Website materials is prohibited except where applicable law requires otherwise.
10. Third-Party Services
The Website may rely on third-party services for hosting, databases, analytics, translation, security, email, backups, account functions, scripts, or other technical operations. Third-party services may process information under their own terms and privacy practices. The Website owner/operator is not responsible for third-party websites, outages, acts, omissions, policies, security incidents, or services outside the Website owner/operator’s reasonable control.
11. Availability, Changes, And Data Loss
The Website may be modified, updated, interrupted, suspended, restricted, discontinued, or changed at any time. Features may be moved, renamed, limited, or removed. 13. Limitation Of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Website owner/operator and related parties shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, special, exemplary, punitive, or enhanced damages; lost profits; lost revenue; lost data; lost entries; emotional distress; reputational harm; device issues; service interruption; security events outside reasonable control; or damages arising from access to, use of, inability to use, or reliance on the Website.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, any liability arising from or relating to the Website shall be limited to the greater of one hundred United States dollars (US $100.00) or the amount, if any, paid by the User to the Website owner/operator for use of the Website during the three months immediately before the event giving rise to the claim.
14. Indemnification
Each User agrees to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless the Website owner/operator and related parties from and against claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses, including reasonable attorneys’ fees, arising from or related to the User’s use of the Website, Private Journal Content, violation of these Terms, violation of law, or violation of another person’s rights.
15. Dispute Resolution; Class Action Waiver
Before filing any formal claim, a User agrees to send a written description of the dispute to ashley@writevent.com and allow thirty (30) days for informal resolution.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, disputes arising from or relating to the Website or these Terms shall be resolved individually and not as a class, collective, consolidated, or representative action. A User and the Website owner/operator waive any right to participate in a class action to the extent permitted by applicable law.
16. Governing Law
Unless applicable law requires otherwise, these Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any claim that is not subject to informal resolution or another legally required process shall be brought in a court with proper jurisdiction in New York, unless applicable law requires a different venue.
