Privacy Policy
Effective Date: May 9, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how information may be collected, used, stored, and protected when a person uses the Website.
1. Purpose Of This Privacy Policy
writevent.com is a private digital journal created for writing, life mapping, reflection, tracking, notes, meditation, and vision planning. This Privacy Policy explains the Website’s privacy intentions and the practical limits of privacy in an online environment.
The Website is intended to provide a personal writing space. Private journal entries are meant for the person who creates them and are not intended to be read, monitored, reviewed, sold, published, or shared by the Website owner/operator as part of ordinary Website operation.
2. Information A User May Provide
A User may provide information when creating an account, signing in, writing journal entries, creating timeline entries, using notes, tracking habits or moods, adding vision board content, submitting forms, requesting support, or otherwise using the Website.
Information may include, depending on how the User uses the Website:
- account information, such as name, email address, username, password-related authentication data, and login activity;
- Private Journal Content, such as journal entries, timeline entries, notes, letters, reflections, tracking entries, and vision board text;
- support or contact information sent directly by email or through a Website form;
- technical information reasonably necessary to operate, secure, troubleshoot, and maintain the Website.
3. Private Journal Content
Private Journal Content belongs to the User who creates it. The Website owner/operator does not read, monitor, review, sell, publish, or share Private Journal Content as part of ordinary Website operation.
Limited technical processing may occur as reasonably necessary to save content, display content back to the User, maintain accounts, protect security, troubleshoot errors, prevent abuse, comply with law, or respond to a lawful request. No online system can guarantee absolute privacy, absolute security, permanent availability, or complete immunity from technical, hosting, backup, maintenance, legal, or emergency circumstances.
4. Guest Use And Browser Storage
Certain Website features may be available without signing in. Guest or unsigned-in use may be convenient, but it is not the most reliable way to preserve writing. Guest entries may be lost, unavailable, overwritten, disconnected from the User, or impossible to recover if the User changes devices, changes browsers, clears browser data, uses private browsing, loses a session, closes a page, or encounters a technical error.
Users should sign in for the most dependable saved experience and should keep personal backups of anything especially important.
5. How Information May Be Used
Information may be used to:
- provide, operate, display, and maintain the Website and its journal features;
- create and manage User accounts;
- save and display Private Journal Content back to the User;
- respond to support requests, questions, privacy requests, or Website guidance requests;
- protect the Website, prevent misuse, troubleshoot errors, and improve reliability;
- comply with legal obligations, enforce the Terms & Conditions, or respond to lawful requests.
6. Sharing Of Information
The Website owner/operator does not sell Private Journal Content. Private Journal Content is not intended to be published, shared publicly, or displayed to other Users through ordinary Website operation.
Information may be shared or processed in limited circumstances, including:
- with service providers that support hosting, databases, security, email, analytics, backups, account functions, or other technical operations;
- when reasonably necessary to protect the Website, investigate abuse, prevent harm, or maintain security;
- when required by law, legal process, court order, subpoena, government request, or other lawful obligation;
- with the User’s direction, consent, or request.
7. Third-Party Services
The Website may rely on third-party services for hosting, databases, email, security, account features, backups, analytics, scripts, or other technical functions. These providers may process information according to their own terms and privacy practices. The Website owner/operator is not responsible for third-party services outside the Website owner/operator’s reasonable control.
8. Security
The Website may use reasonable technical and organizational measures intended to support privacy and security. However, no website, database, hosting provider, browser storage system, email system, or internet transmission can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
Users are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of account credentials, signing out on shared devices, using strong passwords, and keeping personal backups of important writing.
9. Retention And Deletion
Information may be retained for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the Website, maintain accounts, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, protect security, enforce terms, or support ordinary technical operations such as backups and troubleshooting.
A User may request review, correction, or deletion of certain information by contacting Ashley at ashley@writevent.com. Some information may not be immediately removable from backups, logs, legal records, or technical systems where retention is reasonably necessary or legally required.
10. Children
The Website is intended for general audiences and is not directed to children under thirteen (13). A child under thirteen (13) should not use the Website or submit personal information. A parent or guardian who believes a child under thirteen (13) submitted information may contact ashley@writevent.com to request review or deletion.
11. User Choices
Users may choose what they write, save, or submit through the Website. Users should avoid storing information they do not want preserved online and should keep separate copies of writing that is especially important.
Users may stop using the Website at any time. If account deletion tools are available, Users may use those tools. If not, Users may contact Ashley for guidance.
12. No Professional Service Or Emergency Monitoring
The Website is a self-reflection and educational journaling tool. It is not psychotherapy, crisis counseling, medical care, legal advice, or a substitute for working with a qualified professional. Use of the Website does not create a therapist-client relationship with Ashley or with WriteVent.
The Website is not monitored as an emergency service. A person experiencing danger, suicidal thoughts, thoughts of self-harm, thoughts of harming another person, abuse, urgent medical symptoms, or a mental-health crisis should contact emergency services, a crisis hotline, or a qualified professional immediately.
13. Changes To This Privacy Policy
The Website owner/operator may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The updated version will be posted on this page with a new effective date. Continued use of the Website after an updated Privacy Policy is posted means the User acknowledges the updated Privacy Policy.
